Where modern meets traditional

Our customer contacted us to see if we could create a covered walkway along the side of their period cottage.

Designing and installing a 5.7m long x 1.6m wide veranda with glass panels in Anthracite Grey isn’t out of the ordinary, but what made this project different was the cottage’s irregular stone exterior walls. This meant we had to think a little differently, which involved using treated timber cladded in uPVC trims to essentially flatten the wall and provide us with an interface we could achieve a weather seal against.

This modern looking veranda perfectly suits the traditional cottage. It covers the back doors and french doors and has effectively extended the indoor space. From a practical perspective, it also means our customer is sheltered from the weather as they enter and exit their home along the length of the cottage to the side gate.
