Creating a cooler environment without spoiling the view

Our customer’s property on Anglesey had large glazed areas that made the home bright and airy, but the space was becoming uncomfortably hot as sunlight raised the internal temperature. Air conditioning was not a preferred option due to cost, maintenance, and environmental concerns, so we were asked to provide an alternative.

We installed three motorised external blinds ranging from 2.5m x 2.0m to 4.0m x 2.0m, finished in anthracite grey frames with matching grey twilight fabric. The blinds are app-controlled, allowing the homeowner to set different operating times and shading scenarios to follow the sun throughout the day.

The twilight fabric reduces heat build-up by blocking solar radiation before it enters the home, while still allowing clear views of the Snowdonia mountain range opposite the property. This solution not only improves comfort and energy efficiency but also preserves the unique outlook that makes the home so special.
