Our customer was having their home refurbished, which resulted in the main contractor reaching out to us for a practical and cost effective way to help keep the bedrooms cool during the summer.
Both our customer and their architect were keen to overcome this common problem by implementing a solution that was an alternative to air conditioning. We worked closely with everyone involved in the refurb to make sure the solution we recommended fully met the brief from all angles.
Our solution involved fitting five external blinds that are controlled via an app-based control system, giving our customer individual control of each blind at the touch of a button. This means our customer can easily open and close, and even partially open and close, each set of blinds, depending on where the sun is shining in.
In true Greenspace Living style, we added value by wiring the blinds into a newly-installed electricity supply up in the loft, keeping the exterior clear of unsightly cables and all of the associated connections.
Manufactured in a modern anthracite grey, the blinds are complemented with grey twilight fabric that has been designed to block out the sun’s UV rays and reduce solar gain. As a result, the bedrooms get warm, but not too warm. Meanwhile, the blinds may block out the sun, but they don’t block our customer’s view – they are able to see through the blinds and what’s happening outside.
